Designed and supervised in full by the Arab Engineering Consulting Office, the hospital forms a key part of Kuwait’s national development plan under the “New Kuwait 2035” vision. The facility spans an area of 65,000 square meters within the Al-Sabah Specialized Medical District, and includes four main buildings: a central structure composed of three towers, an annex for outpatient clinics, a multi-level parking facility, and a central services building. The total bed capacity reaches 789.
Strategically located on the Kuwait Bay coast, the hospital is noted for its modern design, adherence to the latest global standards in obstetric and gynecological care, and its environmentally conscious, energy-efficient construction in line with green building principles.
The facility includes 460 private patient rooms across 19 wards, 80 private intensive care rooms, 249 beds dedicated to neonatal intensive care, and 81 outpatient clinics. It is also equipped with three main pharmacies: central, outpatient, and emergency.
In recognition of its excellence, the hospital received the 2024 “Project of the Year” Award from the American Concrete Institute (ACI) – Kuwait Chapter, highlighting its innovation and commitment to the highest industry standards.
On this occasion, Eng. Tariq Shuaib, CEO of the Arab Office, congratulated the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Public Works on the successful launch of the hospital. He expressed pride in his firm’s role in the design and supervision of this landmark project from conception to completion.
“This strategic facility significantly enhances Kuwait’s healthcare system by offering a safe, integrated treatment environment aligned with international best practices,” Shuaib stated. He further emphasized the importance of the public-private partnership in delivering major development initiatives, noting that the hospital was designed and executed with the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
According to Shuaib, the opening of this hospital marks a major step toward realizing the goals of “New Kuwait 2035” and sets a new benchmark for future healthcare developments—combining smart design, specialized services, and sustainable infrastructure.
