Spring ends, summer begins — rising heat and dry days ahead in Kuwait

The Al-Ajari Scientific Center confirmed that summer in Kuwait is gradually beginning with the end of the moderate spring season. Starting Tuesday, April 29, the “Kenna” season begins, marking the transition from spring to summer. The Kenna season lasts for 39 days and is divided into three phases, each lasting 13 days: Al-Rasha (Batn Al-Hut), Al-Shartayn, and Al-Batina. During this period, temperatures rise sharply, the sun’s rays become more intense, and dust levels increase, sometimes with chances of rain. The center explained that this phase is stressful due to the heat and dust movement. The Sarayat rainy season also ends during this time, although sudden rains with thunder, lightning, or hail can still occur. Additionally, the Pleiades star cluster disappears from view during Kenna and will reappear around June 7. Bird migration begins at the start of this season, and by the middle, the heat intensifies, signaling the end of spring and the full arrival of summer.Stay updated on Kuwait’s latest news and job openings by following our WhatsApp channel!https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaCkXo25q08jnKrRwo27
